Abstract
El proposito de esta investigacion radica en estudiar la genesis y el desarrollo reciente de la crisis economica de Estados Unidos, asi como las repercusiones diferenciadas que esta ha tenido en el producto global de Mexico y Canada. No obstante que Canada es una economia mas abierta y mas estrechamente integrada con Estados Unidos, la crisis de esa nacion tuvo mucha mayor incidencia en Mexico. Para explicar este fenomeno, se analizan los efectos de la crisis estadounidense sobre diferentes sectores de actividad economica de Mexico y Canada, comparando asimismo las politicas anticiclicas instrumentadas por las autoridades fiscales y monetarias de ambas naciones. Una conclusion importante es que las medidas anticiclicas instrumentadas por el gobierno mexicano fueron limitadas y tardias
