Abstract
Les inventaires du patrimoine culturel immatériel menés par le Laboratoire d’enquête ethnologique et multimédia de l’université Laval (Québec) visent à identifier les ressources ethnologiques du Québec par le biais des nouveaux moyens de communication et de diffusion, notamment des bases de données multimédia. Ces nouvelles technologies numériques facilitent ainsi la conservation de ces expressions culturelles dans la mesure où elles participent à leur transmission ; ce faisant, elles modifient fondamentalement les méthodes d’investigation des anthropologues et des ethnologues. L’enjeu consiste à trouver l’équilibre nécessaire entre l’importance de l’expertise et le rôle laissé aux communautés selon une méthode de reformulation et de réappropriation des champs par les populations elles-mêmes, comme le souhaite la Convention pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel de l’UNESCO (2003).
