Abstract
El concepto de agencia (agency) aparece crucial para aprehender antropológicamente la intersección entre la violencia y la niñez como dos campos socialmente construidos entre los cuales existe una relación dialógica, mucho más compleja que la que se plantea generalmente. El presente artículo pretende ser un argumento a favor del reconocimiento de esta agencia de los niños, más específicamente la agencia que ejercen niños (7-12 años) provenientes de una de las colonias más marginadas de la Ciudad de México, la colonia Morelos, frente a las diferentes formas de violencia (cotidiana, estructural y familiar) que experimentan. Las representaciones múltiples y las lecturas originales propuestas por los niños demuestran la importancia de adoptar en los estudios de la violencia un paradigma de la niñez basado en el reconocimiento de las culturas de los niños, y a nivel metodológico, de crear espacios de participación en los cuales sus voces y sus visiones puedan ser consideradas seriamente en nuestra comprensión del mundo.
