Abstract
Suivant les déclarations des premiers ministres, le rattachement politique du Québec nordique à un Québec principalement sudiste ne semble faire aucun doute, d’où le concept de l’entièreté territoriale. Les Autochtones du Nord dont l’objectif réside dans le déploiement de leurs autochtonismes ont cependant une autre lecture. L’étude de six référents —dont la théorie du secteur et l’autochtonité— apporte quelques éclairages sur la territorialité hétérogène du Québec total. L’analyse conduit à constater un faible niveau de cohérence culturelle entre la partie laurentienne et la partie septentrionale. Le poids des arguments favorables et des arguments défavorables, tant aux sudistes qu’aux nordistes, semble s’équivaloir. Alors, au Nord du Québec, toute chose pourrait arriver demain, si l’on en juge par la réalisation de tant d’imprévus, il y a moins de 30 ans, telle la Convention de la Baie James et du Nord québécois. On s’éloignerait de l’empirisme et de la fatalité par l’engagement dans une toute autre voie, celle de la reconnaissance du pluralisme factuel du Nord qui amènerait une structure participative de « multination » assurant à la fois les intérêts du Québec du Sud ainsi que l’épanouissement des autochtonies régionales.
