Abstract
L'objectif de cet article est d'explorer les liens entre féminité et ethnicité par le biais de l'étude approfondie des pratiques et idéologies linguistiques de deux femmes francoontariennes mariées à des anglophones. Le mariage mixte est considéré comme un lieu de rencontre privilégié où le pouvoir des conjoints en tant qu'homme et femme confronte le pouvoir des anglophones et des francophones. C'est à travers les pratiques linguistiques que l'on peut découvrir les stratégies que les femmes adoptent pour composer avec leurs conditions de vie, pour puiser dans leurs ressources linguistiques afin de jouir des possibilités qui leur sont offertes. Nous examinerons les conséquences des stratégies adoptées par ces deux femmes pour leur francophonie et pour les rôles qu'elles occupent en tant que femme, c'est-à-dire l'impact de ces stratégies dans le rapport existant entre féminité et ethnicité dans leur vie.
