Abstract
Afin d'établir la façon dont les dirigeants du réseau canadien de la santé réagissent à une décennie marquée par la régionalisation, les fusions d'hôpitaux et d'autres transformations du système de santé, un sondage national a été mené de janvier à mai 2000. Le sondage abordait un vaste éventail de sujets y compris les tendances qui entraînent une telle mutation, la préparation de carrière nécessaire pour affronter ces tendances, les qualités de chef qui sont gages d'efficacité et les évolutions des fonctions typiques d'un directeur de services de santé telles qu'il ou qu'elle les perçoit. Les résultats du sondage contribuent de manière significative au dialogue national sur la promotion du leadership et la planification de la relève dans les organismes de la santé.
