Abstract
Dans le présent article, l'auteure examine la question de l'homicide conjugal féminin, ou « maricide », à partir de la perspective des femmes. Trois temps forts ponctuent la démarche. Dans un premier temps, une mise en contexte de la situation ainsi qu'un survol des enjeux de la décision Lavallee et de la pertinence légale du syndrome de la femme battue (SFB) sont présentés. Dans un deuxième temps, elle explique son itinéraire méthodologique et épistémologique dans sa recherche effectuée auprès de femmes à l'origine d'un maricide au Canada, en France et en Belgique. Dans un troisième temps, elle explore le maricide à partir des récits de ces femmes ainsi que des professionnelles et des professionnels et elle présente une partie de ses résultats de recherche en abordant deux thèmes majeurs : 1) les facteurs qui ont conduit ces femmes à l'acte, et 2) leurs réactions après le geste meurtrier.
