Abstract
Résumé Dans l'oeuvre de Michel Tremblay, la maladie mentale apparaît souvent comme un abri sécurisant pour les plus désarmés devant le réel. Alors que certains personnages, cernés par le désespoir et la folie, mettent un terme à leur existence, d'autres plongent dans un monde surnaturel marqué par la pré-sence de fées réconfortantes. C'est le cas pour le personnage de Marcel. En considérant, par le biais de certains concepts liés àia " nouvelle communication-, la folie que l'auteur attribue à ce protagoniste, nous verrons que les délires et les hallucinations de ce dernier - qu 'on ne saurait réduire aux phénomènes imaginaires de l'enfance -, dévoilent une contre-image de l'univers décrit par Tremblay et, pour le personnage, un mode de défense spécifique contre un environnement (social, familial et scolaire) qu 'il ne peut contrôler et à l'intérieur duquel toute tentative d'épanouissement semble perdue d'avance.
