Abstract
Le poète québécois Jacques Brault apparaît comme une figure singulière, à la fois impliquée dans la poésie du pays et en retrait de celle-ci, refusant tout ce qu’il appelle « éloquence » : la parole trop haute, qu’elle soit engagée ou lyrique, la communion où s’abolit la lucidité. Cette contribution examine les modalités de ce mélange d’inscription et de distance, dans la posture et surtout dans l’œuvre de Brault, avec une attention particulière aux brouillages génériques qu’elle pratique, ainsi qu’aux références et aux intertextes qu’elle sollicite.
