Abstract
L’auteure analyse vingt-neuf éditoriaux du journal canadien Globe and Mail publiés pendant la période référendaire de 1980 au Québec. Elle montre que le commentaire sur le nationalisme québécois a suscité l’explicitation d’un sentiment national anglo-canadien et que la restructuration du Canada que les politologues associent habituellement au rapatriement de la Constitution en 1982 est en fait déjà repérable dès 1980. Parmi ces éléments en gestation, se trouvent la consécration de l’égalité des provinces, de même que la vision de l’État fédéral comme État national unitaire.
