Résumé Notre propos consiste à considérer à partir des pratiques artistiques des femmes souventes fois qualifiées d’art identitaire, comment celles-ci effectuent le traitement des identités, traitement qui ne souscrit plus à une succession de formes et de styles auxquels l’histoire de l’art nous avait habitués. Celles-ci tendent à problématiser les repères de l’identité plutôt que de les définir de sorte que la pratique artistique des femmes s’apparente à un processus allant de la quête d’une affirmation - reconnaissance des femmes et de leur art au déploiement d’une posture critique déconstructive permettant de rendre compte par des formes inédites et diversifiées de la pluralité autant formelle que sociale de la question identitaire ; ce qui n’est pas sans portée sociale et politique.
