Abstract
Après avoir brossé un tableau des recherches récentes effectuées en santé mentale en Acadie, cet article remet en question les pratiques psychiatriques privilégiées par les services institutionnels, aux dépens de la minorité acadienne en particulier. L'auteur en déduit que la santé mentale en Acadie est, sous couvert thérapeutique, un instrument d'oppression sociale et culturelle. En conclusion, il présente certains réseaux alternatifs qui, bien que fragiles et dépendants de l'État, remettent en question les injustices, inégalités et abus de pouvoirs des services d'aide institutionnels.
