Abstract
Le non-public auquel il est fait référence explicitement ou non dans des lieux et en des endroits parfois inattendus de la production symbolique des institutions culturelles, révèle plus sur le rapport politique des institutions à l’espace public que sur l’action culturelle elle-même. Le travail énonciatif de repérage et de définition du non-public par les institutions réalise un ajustement des représentations et des énonciateurs à partir du territoire (d’un point de vue topographique, social et symbolique). À ce titre, le non-public peut être appréhendé comme une médiation politique autant que sociologique, nécessaire à un « ordre de l’action » qui ne distribue pas seulement des cibles, mais propose des repères pour une interprétation de l’espace public dans lequel l’institution culturelle est engagée.
