Abstract
Après quinze ans de recherche et des publications sur l’américanité du Québec et la prise en compte des réactions qui ont suscité cette réflexion qui remet en cause l’identité politico-culturelle du Québec, un bref bilan paraissait s’imposer. Bilan d’un certain type, qui présente les principaux obstacles à penser l’américanité du Québec, obstacles toujours présents dans la mentalité québécoise ; ce bilan propose des raisons de penser cette américanité.
