Calculation of the spectral dependence of the radiance temperature of the high-stability tungsten strip lamp
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Tungsten strip lamps are calibrated at specific wavelengths. The calibration at one wavelength can be corrected to make it valid at another wavelength λ for calibrating a radiation thermometer that operates at λ. The correction can be obtained by a calculation based on either Wien’s or Planck’s radiation law with the knowledge of the spectral emissivity ε of the lamp filament and the spectral transmittance τ of the lamp window. Using published measurements of ε for tungsten and our measurement of τ for the window of a high-stability tungsten strip lamp, we develop analytical expressions for ε as a function of wavelength and temperature and for τ as a function of wavelength. These allow accurate calculations of the spectral dependence of the radiance temperature of such a lamp, from which the appropriate corrections can be made. Results are presented.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
