Le vieillissement des alliages plomb-strontium sursatures trempes se fait principalement en une seule etape qui correspond a un mecanisme de transformation discontinue. Apres le vieillissement une nouvelle transformation discontinue prend naissance, elle est caracterisee par une precipitation lamellaire PbSr 3 . Le vieillissement des alliages plomb-cadmium est caracterise par une precipitation continue et une transformation discontinue. Quant a leur survieillissement, il est caracterise par une transformation discontinue avec precipitation de cadmium pur a partir des fins precipitees durcissants de la meme phase. Notre objectif est donc d'etudier les mecanismes de durcissement structural des alliages plomb-cadmium-strontium. Deux etats structuraux sont consideres: alliage brut de coulee et alliage rehomogeneise. Les temperatures explorees sont essentiellement 20 et 80°C. Cette derniere temperature est choisie parce qu'elle correspond a la temperature de murissage des plaques des batteries ainsi qu'a la temperature extreme de son fonctionnement. Les teneurs en cadmium sont 2 et 3,2%, et celles du strontium sont 0,08 et 0,12% en poids.
