Abstract
Cette étude analyse les déterminants de l’adoption anticipée des normes comptables internationales IAS/IFRS par les groupes français suite à l’entrée en vigueur du règlement européen CE 1606/2002 du 19 juillet 2002 ayant obligé tous les groupes cotés de l’Union européenne à appliquer ces normes au plus tard le premier janvier 2005. Nous examinons l’adoption anticipée de ces normes dans le but d’identifier les caractéristiques qui différencient l’environnement français des autres environnements notamment anglo-américain. Les principaux résultats de notre étude montrent une influence positive et très significative du type du cabinet d’audit et de la taille du groupe sur la décision d’adoption anticipée des normes IAS/IFRS par les groupes français. Ces résultats révèlent aussi une influence positive et significative du nombre de cotations sur les marchés financiers étrangers, du pourcentage des ventes étrangères et du taux d’endettement sur cette décision.
