Abstract
espanolEste articulo estudia las ruinas del caserio el Mesillo, un ejemplo de arquitectura popular ligado al cultivo de secano, que constituyo el centro neuralgico de la diputacion de Aguaderas, perteneciente al termino municipal de Lorca. El conjunto, edificado sobre una finca destinada al cultivo del cereal y el olivar, incluia la casa principal, una almazara, la casa del labrador, construcciones auxiliares y un importante sistema de riego que lo hacian autosuficiente. A traves de los restos aun existentes y el testimonio de las personas que lo conocieron, se intenta reconstruir la organizacion espacial y comprender el modo de vida de la sociedad rural que lo poblo. EnglishThe paper studies an example of folk architecture through the existing remains and the testimony of people who knew it, trying to rebuild the spatial organization and understand the lifestyle of rural society that populated it. The complex includes the main house, a mill, the farmhouse, ancillary buildings and a major irrigation system that made him self-sufficient.
