Sans doute est-ce la publication en 1992 du cours maintenant classique donne par Heidegger en 1929-1930, Les concepts fondamentaux de la metaphysique : monde-finitude-solitude, qui a remis la question philosophique de l'animal a l'avant-plan. Il faut lui en savoir gre, mais aussi de l'avoir fait dans le cadre d'un cours consacre aux grandes notions de la metaphysique, cette ecole de pensee que Heidegger, en 1929, ne cherchait pas encore a depasser, mais a accomplir et a penser de maniere plus radicale encore. L'epouvantail de la metaphysique n'existait pas encore, mais l'auteur d'Etre et temps n'en posait que des questions plus essentielles.
