Abstract
Un nouveau domaine académique — celui des communications — émerge dans les universités québécoises. À partir d'une recherche exploratoire menée auprès des universitaires francophones impliqués dans ce domaine, un portrait socio-intellectuel du groupe de ces professeurs-chercheurs est esquissé. Une compilation de leurs intentions de recherche fait apparaître des intérêts dans les domaines suivants: sociologie des média, relations interpersonnelles, épistémologie, analyse des messages, évaluation socio-technologique. L'émergence de ce nouveau domaine conduit à questionner la scientificité et l'utilisation sociale de ce nouveau discours savant.
