Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

When appendicitis occurs in neutropenic adult patients, clinicians must balance the timing and the risks of surgery. Urgent surgery may lead to high operative complications and mortality. This case report details the treatment of appendicitis in neutropenic patients with hematologic disease. Patient 1 was a 31 years old female with severe aplastic anemia and patient 2 was a 34 years old male with AML M6. Both patients' abdominal CT scan was suggestive of appendicitis. We prepared supportive care first, delayed surgery was successfully completed without acute or late complications. We suggest that, in patients in a neutropenic state, delayed elective operation is superior to urgent operation, except in the case of life-threatening complications such as peritonitis. Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
