Abstract
Les voyages constituent, dans l’oeuvre romanesque de Monique LaRue, un facteur d’irréalisation du monde, de mise en cause des mythes contemporains et des fausses identités. Saisis tantôt sous l’angle de la fuite, tantôt dans la perspective du retour, ils jouent un rôle de révélateur chez les protagonistes des Faux fuyants, de Copies conformes et de La démarche du crabe. Dans le présent article, c’est l’aspect cognitif ou, plus largement, gnoséologique des déplacements et du dépaysement qui sera envisagé, afin de voir comment l’expérience du voyage dessine chez LaRue, entre fuite et retour, une variante de la Bildung, une certaine façon d’habiter le monde actuel cerné par les faux-fuyants et les faux-semblants.
