Abstract
Le visage de la femme. Entre la shari'a et la coutume En Algérie comme dans les autres sociétés islamisées, le conflit entre modernistes et fondamentalistes en cache un autre aussi important, sinon plus, entre le fondamentalisme et les coutumes locales. La discussion au sujet du vêtement et de l'apparence des femmes l'atteste. On essaie de montrer ici que la propagation du voile fondamentaliste recouvre une offensive contre les usages maghrébins et contre la doctrine mâlikite, qui a concilié pendant des siècles la lettre de la loi religieuse avec les usages locaux, la religion écrite et la religion orale.
