Abstract
Arrachée à son pays natal et exilée à Paris où elle vit depuis 1967, l’écrivaine judéo-algérienne Annie Cohen s’est frayée un chemin dans l’écriture. Dans ce processus visant une parfaite intégration dans le nouveau pays d’accueil, ses premiers écrits traduisent clairement cette volonté de détachement de ses racines et de distanciation vis-à-vis de son pays d’origine. Soudainement, une rencontre avec un personnage mystérieux Le Marabout de Blida la pousse à écrire sur son algérianité perdue. Cette rencontre qui se double d’un signe d’identité va autoriser La Parole du Sud qui permettra à l’écrivaine de se réconcilier avec le pays des ancêtres. Cette pacification et cette affirmation de son identité judéo-algérienne deviennent une donnée fondamentale dans ses derniers romans.
