Abstract
La réflexion sur le travail constitue la pierre angulaire de l’art poétique de Pablo Neruda. Elle est en effet indissociable d’une interrogation sur la place du poète dans la cité et elle est aussi l’occasion d’une mise en cause des pouvoirs de représentation du langage : si Neruda prend acte de l’écart entre le mot et la chose, il affirme néanmoins la nécessité du travail pour combler cet écart. Enfin, les métaphores artisanales et ouvrières qu’il décline sont généralement l’occasion d’un engagement polémique et d’un dialogue avec la tradition.
