Abstract
Les changements intervenus dans le champ scientifique français depuis le début des années 60 ne peuvent être compris indépendamment du développement d'une politique scientifique de plus en plus active. Bien qu'elle ait considérablement altéré le degré d'autonomie du champ scientifique, cette politique n'a pourtant rencontré que peu de résistances de la part des chercheurs. Selon l'auteur, ceci doit être expliqué par le caractère ambigu de cette politique : ambiguïté des caractéristiques sociales des agents qui l'ont promue, ambiguïté aussi du discours tenu et des mesures décidées. L'étude de cas porte sur la sociologie et les sciences économiques.
