Abstract
Résumé À l’occasion de la survenue de la première épidémie mondiale de SRAS de mars à juillet 2003 et compte tenu de la menace de son extension à de nombreux pays développés ou non, les presses françaises et étrangères ont publié une information abondante sur le sujet. Du 17 mars au 31 juillet 2003, l’auteur a collecté des quotidiens disponibles, en particulier, la totalité des éditions de 5 quotidiens nationaux français relatant l’information en première page. L’étude de presse réalisée sur cette base met en évidence une médiatisation intense dans la presse française surtout d’avril à mai 2003 s’accompagnant d’une évolution des thèmes abordés qui concernent d’abord une alerte mondiale de l’OMS puis touche les pays d’Extrême Orient dont la Chine puis le Canada, les pays d’Europe, la France et dont l’étendue finit par menacer le monde entier. À cette occasion, certains pays ont mis en œuvre des mesures de protection inédites.
