Abstract
Cet article se propose de problématiser des expériences relativement récentes visant à greffer, dans un dessein avant tout non thérapeutique, des implants informatiques au sein du corps humain. Si ces pratiques sont en général présentées à travers leurs bénéfices communicationnels, nous les examinerons sous l’angle du contrôle et les éclairerons à la lumière de la science-fiction, important pourvoyeur d’avenirs sur le marché des idées et cadre mythologique dans la réception par le public de ces « progrès ». Pour argumenter et illustrer notre propos, nous serons amenées à décrire et analyser les modalités de fusion possibles entre la chair et le métal ainsi que les rapports qu’ont imaginés les auteurs de science-fiction entre l’animé et l’inanimé. Ce champ, tout en frontières et en hybridation, interroge la notion même d’humanité, dont l’essence et les limites sont bouleversées par la science et la technique, et la tendance de notre société à prévoir et prévenir toujours plus à rebours les problèmes potentiels.
