Abstract
Las redes sociales de apoyo son importantes condicionantes del estado de salud de las personas sobre todo en la etapa de la tercera edad. En el estudio se analizaron las condiciones de la Redes Sociales de Apoyo asociados a la presencia de trastornos psicologicos en el adulto mayor institucionalizado de la Zona Metropolitana de Guadalajara, Mexico. Para su analisis se utilizaron dos instrumentos de evaluacion: el Cuestionario General de Salud de Goldberg y la Escala de Evaluacion de Apoyo y Contactos Sociales de Diaz Veiga. Nuestros resultados senalan que el 77.4% de la poblacion estudiada mantiene una buena de red social de apoyo, en lo que se refiere a frecuencia y tipo de ayuda que le proporciona su red, mas sin embargo el 96.6% estan insatisfechas con su calidad.
