Abstract
Le métier d’auxiliaire de vie vise à apporter une aide aux personnes dans l’accomplissement des tâches de leur vie quotidienne. Créé en 1988, le certificat d’aptitude aux fonctions d’aide à domicile (CAFAD) a été remplacé en 2002 par le diplôme d’Etat d’auxiliaire de vie sociale (DEAVS) pour répondre aux besoins de qualification tant quantitatifs que qualitatifs du secteur de l’aide à domicile, notamment pour le maintien à leur domicile des personnes dépendantes, âgées ou handicapées. Cette réforme, menée par la DGAS avec un groupe de travail comprenant tous les acteurs du secteur, a permis d’élaborer ce diplôme sur des bases modernes, intégrant un référentiel de métier et de compétences et permettant la validation des acquis de l’expérience, pour la première fois dans le domaine des professions sociales.
