Abstract
La souffrance sociale, qui prend chaque jour davantage d'ampleur sur la scène sociale, est à penser en lien avec la vulnérabilité structurelle propre à une société valorisant la propriété de soi. Elle fait en effet écho aux problèmes posés par l'autonomisation de l'existence en tant que norme sociale dans une société qui n’offre pas la garantie de supports institutionnels et de protections formelles. Tenter d'en comprendre les ressorts impose alors de centrer la réflexion sur les fragilités individuelles nées de l’exigence sociale d’autonomie et de réalisation dans une configuration sociétale qui dés-institutionnalise et privatise l’ensemble de l’activité sociale.
