Abstract
O conto canadense (Québec) "Chevelure de Flamme" de Claire Dé foi traduzido para o português por Lúcia Peixoto Cherem e sua análise foi apresentada no curso de extensão "Conto dos anos 80 II". O estudo desse conto centra-se em dois aspectos do texto: o inusitado (o texto surpreende o leitor a cada instante, com a ação se fazendo diante dele) e a linguagem do protagonista (que também é uma surpresa no conto, mas que domina a análise do texto). A linguagem de Prudent Bouchard, um modesto fazendeiro do Québec, se transforma quando ele relata uma experiência amorosa do passado. A análise do conto fala de uma linguagem adquirida em função de uma troca de experiências e de novas formas de sentir pelos personagens.
