Abstract
Les théoriciens du développement en général et du développement de l'Afrique en particulier, après avoir ressassé les divers types de causes et élaboré différentes stratégies pour sortir les États africains du sous-développement, se trouvent aujourd'hui dans une impasse face à un afro-pessimisme grandissant. Quelles sont les nouvelles problématiques, les nouvelles perspectives conceptuelles et méthodologiques qui permettraient d'aborder, en ce début du troisième millénaire, le problème du développement en Afrique et de déboucher sur des approches ou solutions moins utopiques? Trois notions essentielles (changement des mentalités, gestion rationnelle du temps et des ressources, accroissement de la productivité) pourraient constituer le fil conducteur vers une nouvelle vision du devenir de l'Afrique.
