Abstract
Aquest article versa sobre la reforma de l'educació i els nous programes de Quebec per als dos primers cursos de l'Escola Secundària (12-14 anys), centrant-se en el programa de geografia. Aquest programa aspira a ser innovador i aporta unes orientacions didàctiques coherents amb l'epistemologia de la geografia cultural. L'autor va participar en la formulació dels conceptes geogràfics bàsics en els quals es basa la proposta i en la posada en marxa d'aquesta reforma, experimentant els seus supòsits amb els alumnes. Proposa aplicar com a mètode la resolució de problemes i el desenvolupament de tres competències bàsiques: llegir l'organització del territori, interpretar opcions territorials i construir una consciència ciutadana a escala planetària.
