Cet article part du constat que les transformations, depuis les années 1960, des relations entre autochtones et chercheurs dans le monde nord-américain et la recherche anglophone, ainsi que leurs répercussions s’agissant de l’éthique, ne s’observent pas ou peu en Europe, plus précisément en France ou en suisse. Je pose la question des implications de ce « vide » (relatif) sur les pratiques des jeunes chercheurs menant des recherches avec/pour les peuples autochtones, à partir de mon cheminement en tant que femme française, réalisant une recherche ethnographique en terrain Dènè (dans le nord-ouest de la Saskatchewan). Enfin, au-delà des critiques de la bureaucratisation des relations autochtones-chercheurs, l’article cherche aussi a souligner d’autres dimensions de l’éthique, plus processuelles, et non écrites, qui gouvernent ces relations.
