Depuis quelques années se sont multipliées les marques qui s’engagent dans le sport, et particulièrement dans une action de parrainage, pour le compte d’un événement donné. Ainsi, en général, une entité sportive (individu, groupe, discipline, lieu, organisation ou événement) est parrainée simultanément par plusieurs annonceurs. Les entreprises ont alors la possibilité de joindre un parrainage sportif multiple événementiel, soit l’association de parrains avec une même entité sportive, ou l’association d’entités sportives avec un même parrain, de façon indépendante et concomitante, visant à atteindre des objectifs de management et de communication marketing dans le contexte d’un événement sportif. Dans cet article, nous tentons de mieux cerner les activités du parrainage sportif, puis nous décrivons le parrainage sportif multiple événementiel et, enfin, nous mettons en évidence les implications de gestion liées à la mesure de l’efficacité de ce type de parrainage.
