Migrations, guerres et identité: faits ethno-historiqueszorô Au cœur de la forêt amazonienne, l'identité ethnique n'est pas une donnée invariable et la notion même de tribu éclate face aux mouvements très dynamiques de concentration et de dispersion des populations. Des chercheurs ont récemment entrepris d'élaborer les instruments conceptuels capables d'en rendre compte. Cet article retrace l'ethno-histoire des Zorô dans cette perspective. L'auteur montre que le peuple connu aujourd'hui sous le nom de Zorô était jadis un ensemble de groupes locaux aux contours indéfinis, souvent en guerre entre eux et engagés dans des migrations importantes. L'arrivée des Blancs a signifié la fin des guerres et des migrations et désactivé les mécanismes de concentration et de dispersion. L'identité zorô a ainsi été figée.
