Cet article présente un cadre de travail pour les recherches sur la performance des échanges de données informatiques dans les PME/PMI. Face aux contraintes de développement des systèmes d’information interorgani- sationnels qui touchent ces entreprises, au défaut de travaux exploratoires et à la faiblesse des modèles normatifs de mise en réseau EDI, une analyse est formulée pour tenter de répondre au problème de développement de cette technologie dans un contexte de liens et de marchés électroniques. Cette analyse contribue à établir un cadre conceptuel pour examiner le processus d’adoption de l’EDI et de changement organisationnel. Elle vise aussi à justifier une matrice d’analyse des performances induites par l’EDI. Le cadre conceptuel plaide pour une stratégie d’intégration informationnelle, cohérent avec les considérations d’activités et de choix technologiques. Les bénéfices et avantages recherchés par les PME/PMI découleront de cette stratégie d’entreprises en réseau. La matrice d’analyse des performances fixe les choix de modèles interorganisationnels. Les bénéfices et avantages seront évalués par rapport au niveau de management concerné.
