Abstract
Que nous dit Marcel Gauchet sur la religion qui n'ait pas été dit avant lui ? Dans quelle mesure son histoire politique de la religion renouvelle-t-elle notre compréhension du phénomène religieux ? Pareille question engage à soumettre les thèses de Gauchet au jeu de la confrontation avec les grandes interprétations modernes de la religion (Hegel, Feuerbach, Nietzsche, Durkheim, Weber, etc.). Au regard de cette tâche colossale, notre intention se veut infiniment plus modeste, qui consiste à soulever ici quelques questions à visée généalogique et à portée critique sur Le Désenchantement du monde.
