Abstract
L'étude s'intéresse au problème de la migration de la population des municipalités de l'Outaouais selon les différentes catégories d'âge. Une analyse en composantes principales après transformation KHI, appliquée à une matrice évaluant les écarts entre la population réelle en 1981 et la population estimée à partir d'une hypothèse de population fermée, a permis d'identifier les principaux comportements migratoires associés aux différentes catégories d'âge. Les résultats montrent l'importance du rôle joué par certaines catégories, notamment celles à l'intérieur desquelles des changements dans la composition du ménage ont une plus grande probabilité d'occurrence. Enfin, l'analyse des notes factorielles souligne le caractère particulier des municipalités de la Communauté régionale de l'Outaouais par rapport à celles se situant dans les municipalités régionales de comté de l'Outaouais.
