Abstract
Depuis le début du XXe siècle, la plupart des féministes et des forces sociales progressistes ont eu une position critique à l'égard des discours natalistes soutenant des modèles nationalistes conservateurs. A ce titre, les rapports entre natalisme, nationalisme et égalité des sexes se sont très souvent avérés conflictuels. Le présent article cherche à en explorer les raisons et à analyser ce rapport en France et au Québec, on peut constater que des convergences mais aussi des divergences émergent de cette comparaison. Les deux discours natalistes n'influent pas sur les mêmes institutions étatiques et ils ont varié de façon significative dans le temps. Nous observons également que ces distinctions sont une conséquence du rôle différent que les féministes françaises et québécoises ont joué au sein de l'État.
