Abstract
Dès sespremiers contes, Yves Thériault se montre fasciné par un fantastique aux frontières de l'étrange et du merveilleux. Des événements imprévisibles, souvent inexplicables, des êtres inquiétants, hommes, démons ou bêtes, envahissent l'univers de ses récits qui s'ouvrent alors aux forces mystérieuses de l'univers, aux manifes- tations surnaturelles de toutes sortes. Avec le merveilleux, l'insolite, la science-fiction ou la légende, Yves Thériault, sans pratiquer le récit fantastique de façon systématique, s'est constamment nourri aux sources de cet imaginaire.
