Abstract
L'auteur présente une analyse de la transformation de la ferme familiale, et, de manière générale, de l'agriculture québécoise contemporaine, telle qu'exprimée dans les récits de quarante-huit partenaires de seize copropriétés agricoles familiales situées en milieu semi-urbain et s'adonnant à la production laitière. On constate que le changement s'est manifesté de diverses manières dans la vie des agriculteurs selon le poids des facteurs sociaux et culturels et selon l'importance du choc entre les générations quant au sens du travail. Même si les transformations plus objectives, économiques, techniques ou démographiques se sont révélées importantes, on se rend compte que les changements d'ensemble doivent être mis en rapport avec la transformation de la position sociale et professionnelle des acteurs familiaux.
