Dans le combat engagé contre les inégalités dans le monde et l’imposition d’un « modèle unique », la société civile a un rôle à jouer. Les chancelleries occidentales se doivent, dès lors, d’améliorer leurs rapports de confiance avec les pays du Sud, en renonçant, notamment, à la relation classique d’autorité Nord-Sud. Elles doivent également prendre conscience de l’incapacité que rencontrent ces pays dans l’application de normes qui leur ont été imposées de l’extérieur. Sur des bases de solidarité, de défense des droits de l’homme et de développement durable, les pays du Nord, tout en respectant la souveraineté de ceux du Sud, doivent renforcer leur politique de distribution de fonds financiers, ainsi que leur relations politique et culturelle.
