L’ Allemagne entre la défense d’une identité occidentale et d’une identité germano-européenne

Abstract
Cet article met en lumière la problématique de l’identité de l’Allemagne et de sa politique de sécurité lors des crises au Kosovo, en Afghanistan et en Irak. Dans ces trois cas, les dirigeants de la rfa ont cherché à préserver une identité allemande et européenne. Au Kosovo et en Afghanistan, la défense de celle-ci allait de pair avec la préservation d’une identité occidentale mise de l’avant par les États-Unis. Dans la question irakienne par contre, ces deux identités ne semblaient pas compatibles aux yeux des responsables politiques de Berlin qui, en conséquence, se distancèrent de la politique de leurs homologues de Washington. Ici, comme dans les deux premier cas, l’identité de sécurité défendue par les dirigeants allemands reflétait l’opinion de la majorité de leurs concitoyens.
