Abstract
La perception géopolitique traditionnelle des relations internationales est verticale et boréocentrique. Elle tend ainsi à légitimer la domination des grandes puissances de l'hémisphère nord sur les pays sous-développés de l'hémisphère sud. Cet article vise à montrer qu'au tournant du XX e siècle, une perception géopolitique horizontale, sous-tendue par la montée de l'Inde et du Brésil en tant que grandes puissances, aura pour conséquence de bouleverser le cours actuel des relations internationales dans l'hémisphère sud. C'est ce phénomène imminent d'impérialisme tropical que nous dénommons ici impérialisme tropical gondwanien.
