Abstract
L'auteure traite de la position des femmes dans les migrations internationales, avec une attention particulière à leur situation sur le marché du travail en Italie, un pays où l'économie informelle représente une part Importante des activités productives. D'abord, les éléments qui distinguent les migrations internationales contemporaines de celles des années 50 à 75 sont mis en évidence, notamment en rapport avec la mondialisation de l'économie et la transformation du système industriel. Ensuite, à partir d'une analyse de genre, d'ethnie et de classe, la polarisation des marchés du travail et son impact sur la situation des immigrantes en Europe sont traités. Enfin, deux secteurs d'emploi où se trouvent concentrées les femmes migrantes en Italie sont examinés : le travail domestique et l'industrie du sexe.
