Abstract
We present results of our recent experimental investigation of electron scattering from the 6s6p 3P1 laser excited state of the Yb atom. Measurements of the (partial) differential cross sections for the excitations 6s6p 3P1 → 5d6s3D1,2,3 + 6s6p1P1 (unresolved) and 6s6p3P1 → 6s7s3S1 at 20 eV impact energy are presented. P3 Stokes parameters for the corresponding, time-inverse, de-excitations are also given.
