Abstract
Sous l'illusoire transparence de l'univers référentiel d'une fillette de cinq ans, L'amélanchier de Jacques Ferron propose une représentation problématique de la réalité qui s'alimente à un dispositif intertextuel très élaboré. Le présent article s'intéresse à cette apparente contradiction entre l'imaginaire de l'enfance et l'érudition, aux questions deplausibilité narrative que soulève le récit autobiographique de Tinamer. Les emprunts aux contes pour enfants — et au premier chef, à Alice au pays des merveilles —, à la Bible, à la mythologie ainsi qu'aux littératures française et québécoise traduisent un passé et un héritage fantasmes. Au terme d'un processus de remémoration qui est acte de lecture, le fantasme se définirait ici moins comme un mécanisme déréalisant que comme un processus de reconstruction identitaire délié des critères véridictionnels, et partant, plus authentique.
