Abstract
Cet article analyse les évolutions du rapport de l’État à la santé en France depuis le XIXe siècle et met en lumière les enjeux et les stratégies sous-tendus par les chantiers présidentiels sur le cancer et la maladie d’Alzheimer portés par Jacques Chirac et Nicolas Sarkozy. Il s’agit de comprendre comment l’appropriation de la lutte contre ces maladies par les chefs de l’exécutif repose sur la dimension biopolitique du pouvoir, à des fins de renforcement d’un lien social et de la fonction présidentielle.
